She has served as Director of Health Information Management and Privacy Officer at facilities in Mississippi. Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, and South Carolina.  

Patsy earned her Bachelor of Science in Management from Tusculum College in 1993. She attained Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) in 2005.

Patsy has experience in developing competency assessments, project management for implementation of EHRs, CDI, and coding systems, and reducing discharged not final coded, total AR days and dollars.  She also has experience in working with IT vendors to leverage system technology for improving workflow and work queue management to improve operational efficiency,

A member of the Mississippi Health Information Management Association, she served as President of the association for the 2008/2009 year. She served on the State Advocacy Task Force for AHIMA. She represented MSHIMA on the Steering Committee for the Health Information Security Privacy Collaboration (HISPC) project in Mississippi and was on the Governor’s Task Force for Mississippi Health Information Exchange.

She is a sought-after speaker for professional associations. Through her speaking engagements and leadership positions, Patsy has developed contacts with health information management and other professionals throughout the country and values the networking and friendships that have developed.
